Michelle Bridges gets "Real"
Michelle gets honest about training - there will be no hand-holding this season!...
A word of warning for would-be trainers out there – Michelle is on to you!
"To be a real trainer, you need to be prepared to practice what you preach – Talk the Talk, and Walk the Walk!"
"There's nothing I tell the contestants to do that I can't do."
This is the kind of genuine commitment Michelle Bridges brings to her training every single day, and she's about to teach her "Get Real" mantra to the contestants who "…don't know what they're in for…"
"Part of the "Get Real" philosophy is about being honest with yourself, and admitting that there is a problem – it's all about establishing that there is a problem."
First meeting the contestants on the White House driveway, Michelle definitely knew that the contestants needed help, that there was a problem and that she could be part of the solution.
"When I first saw the contestants, it looked like they've just joined a summer camp – they had no idea what they're in for…"
"The first thing that went through my head was "How did this happen?" How could someone let themselves get to that stage – there must have been quite a commitment to their previous lifestyle to become that large…"
"It is at times overwhelming, but I know exactly what it takes and what needs to be done."
Training is never easy, especially for people who weigh over 200kgs, and it can be both physically and mentally exhausting – as we have seen in pervious seasons of The Biggest Loser, many contestants breakdown under the strain. But Michelle has a more optimistic outlook on pushing yourself to the limit.
"Exhaustion lets you learn a lot about yourself, about what motivates you. What exhaustion brings is clarity, and with this clarity comes inner strength."
And it's this inner strength that Michelle harnesses within the contestants, and it's her commitment to helping them on their journey that will surely get them fit, healthy and on their way to a better life.
