    The Biggest Loser 2010: Phil
    Date: 19/02/2010

I had my beautiful wife here, Karen, who I call Turbo Chucky Doll and my little kids, Maverick and Memphis.

G’day everyone out there, it’s Phil here from Camp Biggest Loser.

I had the pleasure this week of having a family visit. Wayne won Biggest Loser for the second week in a row and being a good mate of mine, he handed the privilege over to me.

I had my beautiful wife here, Karen, who I call Turbo Chucky Doll and my little kids, Maverick and Memphis. I couldn’t believe it when I saw two little kids coming up the stairs of the parade ground. It was a real surprise seeing their beautiful heads pop up and run across the parade ground and jump into my arms. It was the first time since I can remember that I’ve had the strength to pick them both up at once. It was something I would’ve struggled to do before coming on The Biggest Loser. And seeing my beautiful wife…It was great to see them all. It was good to hear that my wife is coping really well with the kids on her own and they’ve been behaving really well with her. It gave me inspiration to keep going.

We’ve had an interesting scenario this week where we’ve gone from below the yellow line scenario to actually having a challenge where one couple won temptation and came up against the rest of us. Caitlin and Daina won the challenge where they get a 2kg advantage. They also had the privilege to be trained by Michelle exclusively for the whole week, and the rest of us were trained by Shannan.

The girls have worked really hard this week and we’re up against it. But I’m hoping we can do pretty well. They’ve got the advantage. Shannan told us not to give up, even though the odds are stacked against us.

At the same time we all have to realise it’s another week where we can lose weight. We’ve all combined this week to work as a team. It’s been a pretty good week actually. We’ve had a change because I’ve always been trained by Michelle, so to have Shannan train us has been a good experience.

I’m just trying to improve my cooking skills. I’m still pretty limited in the kitchen. I didn’t realise how easy it is to make mixed vegetables. All these years I’ve been avoiding it.

I’m also trying to focus on the 21km run that’s coming up, which is then followed by the 42km run. I’ve actually found a love for running, which I never thought I would. So I spend a lot of time training on the parade ground, often on my own, and I’m finding I’m getting a lot of kilometres out of these old legs.

I finished fourth in the 10km run so I’m hoping to do well in the 21km run. When we first came in here, everyone was shocked to find out we had to run four, ten, 21 and then 42km. But slowly and surely there’s a glimmer of light and it’s starting to become a bit of a possibility.

So that’s about it from Filthy Phil this week, guys. I hope you’re all well out there and I look forward to speaking to you again next time.

    Take care, bye now,

    Phil
